Dear parent or carer,
This is the first newsletter to be sent to you in email form only as part of our money-saving project. Please remember that anyone requiring a paper copy can purchase one at the front office.
On a fundraising note the PTA have managed to raise almost £500 this week from their Valentines Disco and Clothing Collection. Many thanks to all those who supported these events – as the government budget cuts begin to be implemented we will be more dependent on additional fundraising than ever. Mrs Grey and her PTA team would be delighted to hear from you if you have any ideas for fundraising that we haven’t tried.
Many thanks to all the parents who have signed our petition against the funding cuts – the plan is to gather these from all the parents of Cheshire East schools and present them to the Education Minister Nick Gibb.
Our Spring term parent/pupil/teacher meetings will be taking place on Wednesday 8th March. Please look out for your appointment letter first week back. May I also draw your attention once again to the INSET day on Monday 6th March – school will be closed that day for staff training.
The first week back is Book Week and there is further information about that in Mrs Whitehead’s letter below.
Finally enjoy the week with your children – let’s hope that the sun shines for us all.
When we come back after the half term, we are having a Book Week to celebrate World Book Day. On Monday 27th February Andy Tooze will be coming in to school where he will be running poetry workshops for different classes. On Thursday 2nd March it will be World Book Day and we would like the children to dress up as their favourite book character and be in the with a chance of winning a prize. We will also be having storyteller Elizabeth Morris joining us to run workshops with Reception, Year 1 and Year 2/3.
I look forward to seeing your outfits.
