As many of you will be aware the government is proposing severe cuts to school budgets with Cheshire East Schools being some of the biggest losers – at the end of this letter I have included information on a public meeting to be held at Crewe Alex on Friday 17th March which gives you an opportunity to raise concerns.
Many thanks to those parents and carers who took part in the #Whatwouldyoucut Twitter campaign on Sunday – it was really powerful to see all the things that schools will lose if funding cuts aren’t reassessed.
Further thanks to those who supported Year 5 in their class assembly this afternoon. The children have worked really hard all day on their ‘play in a day’ project and the end result was fantastic!
Next week sees the residential visit to Shugborough which the children are really looking forward to. The weather forecast looks promising and the children have got a great range of adventurous activities to enjoy.
On Monday 20th March Year 1 are off to South Cheshire College to enjoy their Superhero Day and Tuesday 21st March we have the Year 2/3 production Meadow Farm at 5pm – the children have been working really hard on this and it would be lovely to see as many parents as possible there to offer support.
Tuesday 21st March is also Downs Syndrome Awareness day and we will be selling Gingerbread Socks for a minimum donation of 50P – see further information on the flier below.
Thursday 23rd March we are welcoming everybody to Family Breakfast in the hall from 8am and Friday 24th is Red Nose Day. The children can come dressed in red or in non-uniform for a £1 donation.
Finally Tuesday 28th March will see our Year 6 pupils going to Springfield School to take part in their Anne Frank exhibition. Wednesday 29th March is PTA Easter Bingo . Year 4 have their Ancient Greeks morning on Thursday 30th March and we finish for the 2 week Easter Break at 3:15pm on Friday 31st March returning to school on Tuesday 18th April.
